The SOFII Foundation is looking for a new honorary treasurer to join our board of trustees!

This is an incredible opportunity to contribute to a much-loved, global, and free resource for fundraisers. You’ll help us steward our finances with care and strategy, ensuring SOFII can continue to inspire and educate fundraisers across the world – and grow even further.

What’s involved in this role?

  • chairing our finance and resources committee
  • working alongside a brilliant and passionate board and leadership team
  • helping shape the future of SOFII and the fundraising profession itself
  • a few hours of your time each month, with all meetings held virtually

Why should you join the SOFII Foundation board?

  • be part of a dynamic, inspiring, global movement for better fundraising
  • grow your leadership experience and expand your professional network
  • give back to a sector that’s transforming lives every day
  • plus, you’ll get a supportive induction, a trustee buddy, and plenty of opportunities to learn and connect

We especially encourage applications from individuals who share our commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and integrity. There is no formal accounting qualification required – just strong financial skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for positive change.

Are you ready to make a global impact?

SOFII is a small charity with relatively simple accounts, and we believe that this role can be performed by someone who does not hold a formal accounting qualification. Whilst SOFII operates entirely virtually and we have embraced trustees from around the world, because of the requirement to serve as a key point of contact for our external bookkeepers and our independent examiner (both based in the UK) and as a signatory on our bank account, we think this role will be best suited to an individual based in the UK.

If you think this role sounds like a good fit for you, we invite you to find out more by downloading our recruitment pack, here.

To apply, please send your CV (curriculum vitae) and a covering letter (detailing why you’re interested in the role and how you feel you meet the person specification) to recruitment@sofii.org by Friday 23rd May 2025 at 5pm (UK time).

We are aiming to conduct interviews during the week of 2nd June 2025. If you’re selected for an interview, we’ll share the topics we plan to cover in the interview with you in advance.

If you have any questions, please contact the team by emailing recruitment@sofii.org
